Gil is Managing Partner of Luca Ventures, a firm making investments in pre-seed fintechs and pre-IPO secondaries.

He is a partner in Dev Angels, a community of founders and senior tech leads that mentors and invests in pre-revenue dev tools startups.

In 2014 Gil and co-founders started Forge Global and built the company from zero to 200+ employees. They recruited a seasoned CEO then left in 2020. Forge went public in March 2022.

They simultaneously launched S2 capital (Zenefits, Coin, Rippling, Clearbit, Superhuman, Lambda School, 37 others).

Before that Gil co-founded Britton Silberman Cervantez, an early dot com law firm. They were first lawyer to Craigslist, OpenTable, LinkedIn, On24, and hundreds of others. The venture arm, BSC Ventures, placed 86 investments, with 16 exits and 20X return. He sold the firm three years later to Thelen LLP, becoming a major law firm partner 3 years after joining the bar.

Outside of work Gil jogs and swims everyday, plays classical piano, and writes prolifically for Quora (9,000+ answers), Yelp (1,000+ reviews), and Wikipedia (nearly 250 articles including Uber, Paypal Mafia, Gamification, and Cat Agility).
